Managing Partner of Gorringe’s with over 40 years of experience. Philip oversees development of the business. He has wide experience in the organising of periodical Country House Sales and has a particular interest in Books and Scientific Instruments. Philip also regularly undertakes valuations for Inheritance Tax and insurance purposes.
Partner in Gorringe’s, Clifford has worked in Sussex salerooms for thirty years. Based at Lewes, visiting clients throughout Southern England, undertaking valuation work for insurance, probate and current market value purposes with a particular interest in fine art. Clifford oversees the Picture Department as well as general administration.
A partner of the firm, Sally assists in the smooth running of the firm by liaising with staff members, keeping them abreast with the company’s business strategies. Also keeping a close eye on client relations and assisting in business development.
Charles joins us as a general valuer and our new clock specialist, having previously been a senior specialist in the clock department at Bonham's in Bond Street. Charles will use his expertise to build Gorringe’s clock section and hold stand-alone sales, initially once, or twice a year.
Leslie Gillham has more than 45 years experience in fine art auctioneering, including holding senior positions in both London and New York. As principal valuer at the Tunbridge Wells office, Leslie visits clients from South London to the Kent coast, as well as undertaking formal valuations for probate and insurance.
After a spell at Gorringe's over 25 years ago, we are delighted to have him return to conduct our highly popular weekly Monday auctions. David is widely regarded as one of the best auctioneers in the country, with a concise, speedy style but still with time to enjoy a humorous rapport with his audience. He is a regular contributor to a number of antiques TV programmes- a testament to his popularity.
Jane has been based at the Tunbridge Wells office for nearly 20 years. She manages the running of the operation and undertakes valuation work for clients who visit the office with items for sale.
A curly-coated retriever often mistaken for a labradoodle. Blue wanders the saleroom at will and will usually be found wherever there is food.
A Maltihavapoo, Darcy can be found at reception barking at suspicious passers-by.
A mini daschund, Birdie leads a quiet life behind Kelly’s desk.
A Morkie, Lola is our newest addition to the security team and can be found protecting works of art from the inside.
A Border Terrier, Molly is our trainee auctioneer and can be found under the rostrum on fine sale days, learning the ropes (in her sleep).
A Springer Spaniel, Murphy is our very ethusiastic office manager's assistant and likes nothing better than "sorting" paperwork.
