Based at Lewes, visiting clients throughout Southern England, undertaking valuation work for insurance, probate and current market value purposes with a particular interest in fine art. Clifford oversees the Picture Department as well as general administration.

Managing Partner of Gorringe’s with over 40 years of experience. Philip oversees development of the business. He has wide experience in the organising of periodical Country House Sales and has a particular interest in Books and Scientific Instruments. Philip also regularly undertakes valuations for Inheritance Tax and insurance purposes.
A partner of the firm, Sally assists in the smooth running of the firm by liaising with staff members, keeping them abreast with the company’s business strategies. Also keeping a close eye on client relations and assisting in business development.
Roger is well respected amongst the local antiques fraternity, with 35 years of general experience and a particular love of fine silver, watches and jewellery. Roger also has a personal well imbibed knowledge of wine and has advised on many significant cellars.
After a spell at Gorringe's over 25 years ago, we are delighted to have him return to conduct our highly popular weekly Monday auctions. David is widely regarded as one of the best auctioneers in the country, with a concise, speedy style but still with time to enjoy a humorous rapport with his audience. He is a regular contributor to a number of antiques TV programmes- a testament to his popularity.

With over a decade’s experience as an auctioneer and valuer, Joseph is the latest addition to the team at Gorringe’s. Joseph conducts valuations for all purposes and his favourite elements of the role are time spent on the rostrum during sale day and developing new sources of business. He has also recently served as president of NAVA Propertymark, promoting high standards and best practise within the industry.
Christine assists with the smooth running of the weekly auction and helps with packing as part of our postal service for buyers.
Paul works as assistant to the Head Porter in setting up the sales, delivering goods to the weekly saleroom and assisting the transport team.
James assists with the furniture for our weekly sales, from unloading the vans through to cataloging, estimating and loading back onto a successful purchaser’s vehicle.
A Border Terrier, Molly likes to help out with our book auctions and especially enjoys helping to catalogue the books whenever the opportunity arises.
Mocha loves making herself very at home in the saleroom and if not found at Clifford's feet or Samantha's lap will be making friends with anyone who is remotely dog friendly!
A Border Terrier, Kite assists with the weekly auction and has the potential to become an expert in furniture valuation (and comfort).
A Golden Retriever, Shanti can be found in the cash desk assisting Mel and checking the comfort of the floor area.
Woody is a Border Terrier and his favourite hobby is swimming. Sometimes he can be found at the galleries causing mischeif with his auntie Kite.
