Antique Jewellery Auctions and Valuations
Gorringe’s Jewellery Department handles over 3000 lots per year ranging from antique to modern and contemporary jewels. Items from single pieces to whole collections can be brought in for valuation for sale, probate and insurance purposes.
We employ an accredited gemologist to assess diamonds and other gemstones. Our jewellery and watch showrooms offer the ideal display and viewing facilities with help and advice on offer for first-time engagement ring buyers through to experienced collectors and trade buyers. Recent sales have included several high-value diamonds and an estate sale of a wide-ranging collection of antique jewellery.
The Watch Department covers a broad spectrum from modern contemporary collectors’ wrist watches through to rare and early pocket watches. Recent notable highlights include the discovery and subsequent sale of a rare 17th-century pocket watch (for £20,000) and a local doctors’ estate which totalled some 200 lots of gold pocket watches totalling over £120,000.
All items in our catalogued sales are illustrated on the website, with sales attracting a wide variety of buyers from international bidders to London dealers and regular local private buyers.
