Gorringe’s Auctioneers to host an exclusive jewellery lunch at the hottest new East Sussex hotel opening, Crafted at Powdermills
On 20th March, Gorringe’s is delighted to be hosting an exclusive jewellery lunch, at the recently opened Crafted at Powdermills, the luxury historic hotel near Battle. We have a limited number of tickets for this special luncheon that will feature expert insights from Gorringe’s renowned jewellery expert, Sam Hug, as well as an exceptional fine dining experience in elegant surroundings.

The event on Friday, 20 March, offers a rare opportunity for guests to combine a high-end culinary experience with a deep dive into the world of fine jewellery. It is also your chance to discover Crafted at Powdermills, the exclusive hotel and members club described by The Times in December as ‘East Sussex’s most stylish place to stay’.

On the Day
The day begins at 12noon with a glass of English sparkling wine and a conversation between Oliver Searle, Executive Director of Gorringe’s and Sam Hug, our Head of Jewellery. They will provide an illuminating and entertaining look behind the scenes of the jewellery auction world.
You will learn what determines value, trends in buying jewellery, how jewels come to auction and tips on how to navigate the buying and selling process. This will be followed by an interactive Q&A session where guests can engage with the experts directly.
At 1pm, guests will enjoy a curated three course lunch in the Members Private Dining Room. The menu showcases seasonal, artisanal ingredients.

Following dessert there will be the opportunity to see some stand out pieces of jewellery up close, and you will handle some true hidden gems and learn their secrets.
Whether you’re curious about consigning a piece, are interested in buying or selling, or simply love beautiful jewels, this lunch will deliver sparkle, expertise and an enjoyable insight into the fascinating world of jewellery.
For anyone who brings along a treasured personal item, private valuations will be available on request in the hotel’s Green Room throughout the afternoon.
Tickets for the event are £85 per person, including a three-course meal, a glass of fizz on arrival, wine served with lunch as well as a talk, jewellery presentation hosted by Samuel Hug and Oliver Searle and bespoke valuations with Sam.
Due to the intimate nature of the venue, space is strictly limited and tickets are expected to sell out quickly on a first-come, first-served basis. Do book early to avoid disappointment.
Ample parking is available on-site at the Powdermills estate.
