How much does it cost to sell with you?

Gorringe’s charge the following to sell with us:

Minimum Commission

The Vendor’s Commission is subject to a minimum commission per lot of:

£10 per lot including VAT whether sold or unsold.

Seller’s Commission Rates

On the first    £3,000 15% + VAT

Thereafter    10% + VAT

These rates are negotiable on high value consignments so please speak to us.

Insurance charge & VAT

1.5%+ VAT of the Hammer Price of each lot if sold, or if unsold 1.5% + VAT of the reserve price. Value added Tax, at the current rate, is payable on all commissions and charges, except where it is indicated as VAT inclusive. N.B Insurance settlement payment will be based on the hammer price or mid-estimate.

Unsold charge

Minimum charge of £10 per lot including VAT  (plus insurance as detailed above). This charge is a one-off and would not be repeated should an item fail to sell in a subsequent auction.

What happens if my item doesn’t sell?

You will need to pay an unsold charge plus insurance detailed above. We will usually suggest that we re-offer the item at a lower estimate in the next suitable sale. In some cases we may ask you to collect the item, then contact you to arrange collection of your item(s)
